MEET THE TEAM

Behind every casting is a team of experienced professionals who understand the foundry industry from the ground up.

With decades of combined service, deep technical knowledge, and a strong connection to the company’s heritage, our leadership team blends tradition with forward-thinking expertise to deliver quality, reliability, and consistency for our customers.

Sam Edwards

Sales Director

Sam became involved with The Boro Foundry at the age of 16, carrying out a wide range of roles including moulding on the line, maintaining the site, and delivering castings to customers. After completing a degree in Business Management and Marketing, followed by a year working in logistics, he returned to the business with a broader commercial perspective.

He spent 13 years working across all departments of the foundry before moving into Sales in 2019. This hands-on experience provides Sam with the technical understanding needed to guide customers through the specification and purchase of complex engineering solutions.

Bev Edwards

Finance Director

Bev joined The Boro Foundry in 1979 as a receptionist and, with over 46 years’ service, is the company’s longest-serving member of staff. During her career, she has undertaken most administrative roles within the business, giving her a deep and practical understanding of how the company operates at every level.

As the granddaughter of the original owner, Sidney Norton, Bev has a strong personal connection to The Boro Foundry and has played a pivotal role in guiding the business through both challenging and successful periods. While raising three children, she completed a bookkeeping course at night school and has continued to build on those skills throughout her career.

Now as Finance Director, Bev brings invaluable experience and insight into the financial and operational challenges of running an SME manufacturing business.

Craig Rollinson

Foundry Manager

Craig joined The Boro Foundry through the apprenticeship programme 13 years ago at the age of 17. He gained experience across all areas of the business while combining practical work with technical training. From an early stage, he demonstrated a strong interest in metallurgy and the technical aspects of the casting process.

His expertise ensures strict quality controls are maintained throughout production. Craig’s problem-solving approach and positive attitude means the technical challenges of running a jobbing foundry are met with confidence and consistency.

Now as Foundry Manager, Craig is one of the standout success stories of Boro Foundry. His proven track record of leadership ensures all departments remain aligned and customer-focused, consistently producing high quality components.

Fiona Drewett

Operations Director

Fiona — known as Fee — leads the day-to-day operations of The Boro Foundry, coordinating closely with the foundry manager, dispatch, and sales teams. With oversight of the entire workflow, there is no part of the operation she does not know in detail.

With over 41 years at The Boro Foundry, Fee has built extensive knowledge of customer products, processes, and production requirements. As the granddaughter of the original owner, the foundry is very much part of her DNA.

Like the rest of the senior leadership team, Fee takes a hands-on approach to management and is regularly present on the foundry floor, ensuring operations run smoothly, efficiently, and to plan.

Carl Howell

Machine Shop Manager

Carl joined The Boro Foundry in 2009 as an experienced machine operator and has continued to develop his skills throughout his career. He now manages the machine shop while remaining hands-on, operating large CNC milling machines. His proficiency in CAM is relied on throughout the machine shop operations.

With a career spent working with Both manual and CNC machines, Carl brings extensive technical knowledge to complex and demanding machining work. His experience allows him to guide his team effectively and deliver practical solutions to challenging requirements.

Carl maintains a strong focus on meeting delivery dates and holding tight tolerances across all machining processes, providing customers with confidence in both accuracy and reliability.

Component of the Year Award 2022

In 2022, Boro Foundry received Casting Component of the Year for the redevelopment of a Unimog Power Lift Arm. The original component was manufactured as a multi-part fabricated steel assembly, which introduced structural weaknesses and reliability issues under load. By re-engineering the part as a single-piece Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI) casting, we delivered improved strength, reduced complexity, and consistent performance without increasing weight or production cost.
